Chris is driving home from Mystic Connecticut.
"girl follows in a long Amtrak car"

Silver walker with gray trim. Right leg powered.
My mangled left leg dangles painfully in its plastic cradle -
from bed to bathroom and back again.
I am clumsily recapturing control
of basic body functions.

Tim and Reiko are sitting outside in Pittsburgh. Evening -
listening to the buzz of the wind rushing through Night hawk wings.
They have read that the night hawks will be migrating to Mexico soon.
"Reiko and I wonder if their snuggling down in groups
practicing their Spanish?"

Back in bed, I sip water from a clean styrofoam cup.
